"Ripe black cherries, leather, peppery garrigue, and tapenade notes all give the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Crous Saint Martin Hommage À L'An 1879 a classic, old school vibe, but it's wonderfully pure, seamless, and elegant on the palate, with polished tannins and terrific overall balance. Based on 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 10% Mourvèdre brought up in 35% new oak (although you wouldn't know it by tasting it), it should have a solid 10-12 years of prime drinking." —Jeb Dunnuck
