"The Umani Ronchi version of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is intended to be an interpretation of this vine which aims to exalt its varietal characteristics and its freshness, combining these qualities with just the right amount of charm and softness. The result is a very pleasant and drinkable wine which goes with many different kinds of dishes." —winemaker

"The hand harvesting and organic growing methods really benefit this unfiltered Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. It's deeply flavoured and weighty with layers upon layers of sweet and smoky dark fruit. Absolutely fantastic value." —winemaker

"Deep ruby-red color. Strong red fruit on the nose with hints of licorice. Medium, well balanced palate." —winemaker

"Dark, ripe, berry fruit and plum notes on the nose give way to a lush and rich mouthfeel with great structure and a long, dry, smooth finish." —winemaker

"Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is one of Italy’s most famous wines, and can be found on wine store shelves all around the world. This classic, well-rounded, plum-scented Italian red is made from Montepulciano grapes grown in the Abruzzo region, on Italy’s Adriatic coast. It is quite distinct from Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which is a Sangiovese-based wine from Tuscany." —winemaker
