The nose opens with rose petals, dried violet, wild strawberry, red currant, and a hint of blood orange zest, layered with licorice, fennel seed, and subtle minty alpine notes. On the palate, it is precise and elegant yet firmly structured, with fine-grained tannins, bright red-cherry fruit, savory tobacco, crushed stone minerality, and a lingering note of sweet spice from large cask aging.
