"A very drinkable pumpkin ale — brewed with seven-and-a-half pounds of pumpkin per barrel and spiced in conditioning with ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. Both roasted and raw pumpkin seeds are in the mash, with pumpkin added to the mash, kettle and fermenter." —brewer

"Brewed with 150 lbs of pumpkin per batch (in the mash, boil, and fermentor), green and roasted pumpkin seeds bittered with Horizon and spiced with nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, ginger, and allspice.

"Slightly hazy tawny color. Lacing surpasses our expectations with a good amount of clinging action. Smells of fermented pumpkin, a little starchy and melon-like, with a tartness that meshes very well with the subtle yet savory spicing. Incredibly smooth, sturdy medium body. Kicks off with a mild tartness of fermented pumpkin. Malt follows right behind with a mellow bread and faint caramel mix. Spicing slowly strolls hand-in-hand with the balancing hop bitterness. Nutmeg and clove seem to be the more dominant spices in their small world until the ginger comes along and plays king through the aftertaste. A little bready and toasty in the slightly dry finish.

"This has to be one of the most complex Pumpkin Ales we've had to date. And there is a bonus in its drinkability, as most of the style are good for only one serving. Sip after sip, Night Owl grew on us. Seek this beer. Enjoy." —BeerAdvocate Magazine

"This is a well-balanced and layered pumpkin brew that offers all of the pumpkin-pie characteristics one expects without being overdone. Over seven pounds of pumpkin go into each barrel brewed, and it shows with upfront notes of mashed pumpkin flesh accented with ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove and allspice. The malty backbone complements the sweet pumpkin-pie flavors in the medium-weight mouth, but ample carbonation and moderate hop bitterness keeps the palate lifted and inviting. A toasted pumpkin-seed accent unfolds on the long, spicy finish." —Lauren Buzzeo, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
