"Poured as a dark garnet, the wine opens with primary aromas of ripe cassis and blackberry. Supporting hints of dark chocolate, toasted oak and cedar support the typical Orin Swift Cabernet Sauvignon nose. The entry is flooding with notes of dark fruits and a mid-palate bolstered with redcurrant, bay leaf and a reemergence of cassis. The wine closes with well-developed tannins and a striking minerality despite the supple and soft finish." —winemaker

"We have access to truly exceptional vineyards that are producing some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the country. It just made sense to add Cab to the Beautiful Earth series of wines. Components were destemmed and fermented in small open-top bins, and stainless steel tanks. The wine spent between 20-25 days on the skins with a combination of pump-overs and punchdowns during fermentation. Aged 18 months in a combination of 225 and 265-liter barriques, and 500-liter French oak puncheons, 60% of which were new." —winemaker

The palate is well-structured with velvety tannins complemented by generous layers of fruit flavors of blackberry, fig, and raspberry preserves that give way to a melting finish." —winemaker
"The fruit for the 'Counterpoint' bottling comes from Laurel Glen Vineyard, which is 14 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon planted in 1968, CCOF Certified Organic and Pickberry Vineyard, which is 30 acres of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. The blend is predominately Cabernet Sauvignon from the Laurel Glen Vineyard, with the remainder consisting of Merlot and Malbec from the Pickberry Vineyard. The wine ages for 20 months in French oak, of which roughly 40% is new." —winemaker

"This is a wine that celebrates all of the team plus their extraordinary growers. It is a result of happy soils, healthy vines, low crop yield, low to no irrigation, harvest at high ripeness levels-these are the key ingredients of the Caymus style. This vintage especially exhibits an expression of the style which Caymus is known for and is as singular in their approach to making it. Rich and round on the palate, with minimal tannins expressed in a textural manner that are non-bitter. Evidence of French oak, but not overplayed. Acidity enough for balance, but not tart to the palate. The Caymus style allows the consumer to face no hurdles in tasting and enjoying the delicious essence of the wine." —winemaker
"The color is intense and beautiful, almost black with purple, reddish hues. Aromas of black cherry, cassis, piecrust, spice, and mint mingle and leap from the glass. The palate is full and concentrated with similar aromas but also featuring black currant and sweet red cherry with the mild presence of oak, seamlessly integrated. Signature finely structured tannins and balanced acidity give way to a long finish which continues to build after that last sip." —winemaker

The palate is linear throughout with a consistent midpalate of bright and lifted acidity and well-integrated raw mountain tannins that close in a persistent finish." —winemaker

"Pure and powerful, this wine opens with fresh blueberries, blackberry pie and cassis. The endless dark fruit is complemented by a range of baking spices: vanilla at first, but also clove and cinnamon. The first sip instantly reveals the character of this Cabernet: dense and chewy with bright red fruit, incredible tension and pure, fine grain tannins. Not only is everything in its place; but the layers of flavor, the depth of the fruit and the sublime texture are constantly rearranging. Each glass will be a unique experience.
