"As with most Aberlour whisky, this 12-year-old single malt has been matured in two types of cask. This double casking adds depth of character as well as balanced notes of fruits and spices. Golden amber colour with hints of ruby red. Very soft and rounded nose with fruity notes of red apples. Sherried character and fruity aromas on the palate balanced with a rich chocolate, toffee, cinnamon and ginger spiciness. Warming and lingering finish. Sweet and very slightly spicy." —producer

"La Narassa is sourced from the famed black schist soils of the Agly valley in the northern Roussillon near the village of Maury. It is made in a semi-ripasso by harvesting the Grenache in successive passes picking only the ripest clusters. Once at the cellars the fruit is destemmed and only the best berries are chosen for fermentation after a short pre-fermentation maceration." —winemaker

Wine Anthology Team Review-  A wonderful example of a master winemaker getting the most out of a simple blend. Grown in Agly Valley (mostly known for desert wines previously) this is made up mostly of Grenache (only the ripest clusters used) rounded out by Syrah to counter balance the "jammy" quality brought on by the Grenache. The combination brings out wonderful balance and an elongated, welcoming finish. Enjoy with your favorite grilled meats. Cheers!

The palate is full and rich with ripe lemon, golden delicious apple, stone fruit and subtle grilled pineapple notes on entry with toasty oak, vanilla, butterscotch, lemon curd and chamomile joining on the mid-palate. The finish is fresh, moderately long with generous ripe lemon and stone fruit notes framed nicely by French oak." —winemaker
