"A wine produced from white indigenous Douro varieties sourced from an area called “Ribeira de Teja” located in Quinta de Vale de Cavalos, which enhances the minerality of the terroir. The ageing in new oak casks gives this wine complexity and structure, amplifying its flavours." —winemaker Blend: 30% Códega, 70% Arinto |

"The 2018 Branco da Ribeira is the relatively new—and pricey—white. It is a 70/30 blend of Arinto and Códega aged for nine months in new French oak. It comes in at 13.3% alcohol, less than two grams of residual sugar and seven of total acidity. The pH is 3.1. This is produced from vines ranging from 20 to 40 years in a specific plot of Quinta de Vale de Cavalos called Ribeira Teja. This was only in bottle about ten days when seen." —Wine Advocate "This wood-aged blend of Arinto and Códega do Larinho is impressive. Its richly fragrant character emphasizes the natural acidity of the two grapes, while the wood aging brings out ripeness, structure and potential. This is a young wine with a rich future ahead. Drink from 2022." —Wine Enthusiast "Featuring a supple, rounded texture, this white is structured by integrated acidity, offering toasty accents to the spiced apple, vanilla and pineapple compote flavors. Floral, almond and mineral elements linger on the rich, creamy finish. Arinto and Côdega. Drink now through 2026. 350 cases made, 60 cases imported." —Wine Spectator |
