Opus One

Opus One is the result of a visionary collaboration between two luminaries of the wine world—Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Napa Valley pioneer Robert Mondavi. United by a shared ambition, they sought to craft a single Bordeaux-style blend that would showcase Napa’s potential on a global stage. Since its founding in 1980, Opus One has remained dedicated to precision, balance, and a deep respect for tradition, blending time-honored winemaking techniques with forward-thinking innovation. Nestled in the Oakville appellation, Opus One’s estate spans 169 acres, where Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot are cultivated with meticulous care. These vineyards, including parcels within the historic To Kalon Vineyard, form the foundation of the winery’s signature cuvée and its second wine, Overture.
