"A very serious run at the finest wines from Pinot Nero / Pinot Noir in the world. Very intense red fruit concentration, strong yet balanced tannic structure with notes of vanilla and toffee complimenting the finish." —winemaker Wine Anthology Team Review-One of my absolute favorite discoveries from this past year! For anyone who has ever hesitated to try a Pinot Nero in the past, this is the one you should try! Silky smooth with baked fruit compote flavors that envelope into nuanced flavors of baking spice on the finish. A wine that begs to be sipped over and over again. Masterfully crafted and simply worth every penny. Enjoy with a slowly cooked pot roast and thank me later. Cheers! |

"The Castelfeder 2017 Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva Burgum Novum offers plenty of the varietal typicity that you should expect of this Burgundian grape, with light veils of smoke and tar that remind you of the warm growing conditions encountered in this vintage. Dried blueberry and raspberry rise from the glass with candied orange and dried lavender. For a moment, I sensed the wine's 14% alcohol content, but that heat is well integrated into the slightly thicker fiber of this otherwise silky and delicate red. There is some tangy white licorice and dried mint on the close of this 14,000-bottle release." —Wine Advocate "This has quite a bit of smoky oak, but also the ripeness and depth to carry it off. Impressive black-cherry fruit with hints of red plum and orange zest. Quite some structure, but it isn’t too dominant. Bold and supple finish. Drink or hold." —James Suckling |
