"Produced from estate-owned vineyards located on the picturesque Tuscan countryside, located in the heart of the DOCG area. Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva showcases and elegant display of persistent raspberry and vanilla aromas, with a full-bodied texture and lengthy finish of black fruits. Aged for 2+ years in a combination of French Barriques and Slovenian oak casks, followed by 6 months in steel and cement vats. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with further aging ranging from 3 months to over a year depending on the vintage." —importer |
Critical Acclaim | |||
"Smoky blackberry, rosemary and tar flavors predominate in this burly red, with dense, assertive tannins. This could use a little more generosity midpalate to buffer the tannins, yet persists on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2037. 16,000 cases made, 7,200 cases imported." —Wine Spectator |
