Campo alle Noci Brunello di Montalcino 2020
Tuscany
Italy

"Saturated ruby in color, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino is sappy and ripe on the nose with notes of blackberry preserve, blue fruit, violets, sweet leather, balsamic, and sappy, sweet earth. Full-bodied but not heavy, it has ripe tannins and a rich texture, with a bit of meaty richness, although it's very nicely balanced with pleasant savory notes of tea leaf on the finish. It's a solid wine with a lot to offer over the next 7-10 years." —Jeb Dunnuck

"Overt and ripe style here, fully focused on dark fruit, together with camphor notes, fresh violets and a touch of pepper. Firm palate with chalky and quite drying tannins, refreshing acidity and an austere finish. Try from 2026." —James Suckling

"Dried violet and chalk dust give way to crushed blackberries and hints of shaved pine as the 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Campo alle Noci opens in the glass. This opens with a pretty inner sweetness, lifted yet slightly lean in feel, with mineral-drenched red berry fruits. The 2020 tapers off with tension, gently tannic yet primary and intense, leaving rosy inner on the finish." —Vinous

"The nose opens saline and floral, with aromas of tulips, salt and wet slate, then adds notes of top soil and raspberries that lead onto a palate simultaneously tart, sweet and earthy, with flavors of cranberries and blood orange standing alongside more raspberries, rocks and soil." —Wine Enthusiast
