A blend of 41% chardonnay, 38% sauvignon
blanc musque, 13% pinot grigio and 8% ribolla gialla) Full
golden-yellow color. Musky aromas of flowers, orange peel and
marmalade. Fatter and more exotic than the pinot grigio but also quite
dry and youthfully bitter-edged, with musky floral and spice flavors as
well as some chardonnay-driven smoke and earth low tones complicating
the pineapple fruit. A very distinctive white blend. This wine was
priced at $32 a bottle when it was a rarity, but production has risen
to 4,000 cases.
