|"A white gold chardonnay with delicate green hues. Tropical aromas unfold: white flowers, nectarine, passion fruit, and a touch of grilled pineapple. The palate reveals citrus tones of grapefruit, lemon grass and delicate lemon peel confit on the finish, complementing the vibrant aromatic profile. Texturally silky, with a well-integrated, lively acidity." —winemaker
Wine Anthology review:
The Felino range from Viña Cobos is winery founder Paul Hobbs' take on Argentinian wine's value segment, featuring this vibrant, crisp, and young expression of Chardonnay. Felino Chardonnay comes from vineyards hand-selected by Hobbs in Luján de Cuyo, Tupungato, and San Carlos at medium-high elevation of about 3,000 feet. This 2015 shows a great deal of creaminess in the nose, with aromas of baked apple, peach cobbler, and warm caramel. Super fresh flavors of ripe apple and exotic notes of guava and pineapple fill out the picture, while a tight mineral note closes each sip.
